Dr. Paul A. Pereira

A Trinidad-born entrepreneur, executive, and academic whose career spans biotechnology, telecommunications, energy, AI, and sustainable development — and the founder of Alton Worldwide.

Dr. Paul A. Pereira, CEO and founder of Alton Worldwide

Dr. Paul Antonio Pereira built Alton Worldwide on a simple conviction: a business in trouble does not need a thicker report — it needs an operator who will go in and fix it. Across four decades he has led companies in biotechnology, telecommunications, energy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development, on every kind of terrain a global career can offer.

As an academic, he is a Professor of Strategic Management and International Business at ISM/ISEG Paris, where he was honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2010. That scholarly rigor sits alongside hard operating experience — the rare combination of someone who can teach strategy and then go and run it.

Dr. Paul A. Pereira alongside global business leaders

Dr. Pereira has worked alongside leaders across business, government, and philanthropy worldwide.

Philosophy

Dr. Pereira's method rests on the Three Cs of Emerging Markets — culture, customs, and communication. Markets are people, and people operate inside a context; reading that context is what makes a strategy land instead of stall. He pairs it with Blue Ocean Strategy: rather than fight in crowded, contested markets, he builds businesses into uncontested space where they create new demand instead of competing for the old.

Philanthropy

He is the founder of Fantastic Oceans, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to ocean conservation — an extension of his commitment to sustainable development and to leaving the world better than he found it.
